Trends and numbers

In the business world, we often need to talk about trends. Today, we’ll present some words you will use all the time.

Tank” means to fail very fast, to sink.

Example: Facebook prices have tanked.

Decline” is a downward movement, a fall.

Example: There was a decline in plastic usage before the pandemic.

Increase” is to become larger or greater.

Example: We can increase the prices without losing clients if we add this feature.

Soar” means to go very high.

Example: Stock prices have been soaring since the release of our new product.

Here in Worddio, we like data, and we compiled a list of the most common words used to describe trends. For each, you will have a description and an example of how to use it in a sentence.

It is part of our Business package available for companies only. It contains more than 25 libraries with essential words and phrases you need to be more confident and productive.
